Vinegar for Keeping Toilet and Showers Smelling Fragrant and Keeping Hair and False Teeth Clean and Fresh

As vinegar is an acetic acid, it does well with cleaning, disinfecting and deodorising, so it is excellent for both the bathroom and personal health department.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:-

*  Neat vinegar, or a small amount added to warm water, will clean the wall and shower tiles, the shower doors and the shower tray.  It will also slow down the build-up of any mould or mildew in the winter months.

*  Vinegar is excellent for cleaning the toilet and a little neat vinegar poured down the sink plughole and shower drain will break down any build-up of gunge and will disinfect at the same time.  Don’t forget to stand your toilet brush in a mild solution, as well.

*  If the shower head is clogged up with lime, soaking it for an hour or so in a mixture of a half a cup of vinegar to two pints of water will make it new again.  The hot water will flow quicker and that shower will feel even better.

*  If you boil up lavender or other fragrant herbs in a neat solution, then store it in a tight jar for a month or so, the strained concoction is just as good as any other air freshener.

*  On the personal front, history tells us that vinegar added to the final rinse of your hair will leave it squeaky clean, as it removes any build-up of commercial products, like hairspray, mouse and gel.

*  It does a good job of cleaning false teeth, if they are left to soak in a neat solution overnight.  The next morning, give them a good rinse and they’re ready to serve you again, a much better idea than leaving them to soak in some chemically-based product.

*If your clothes have a smoky smell about them, hang them up over a bath or tub full of hot water in which you have added two cups of vinegar.  The next day, the smell will have disappeared and the garment will be ready to wear again.

*  Put a droplet of vinegar on your spectacles and wipe them clean with a soft cloth.  Like windows cleaned in the same way, they will be streak-free.

*  Hot vinegar can relieve rheumatic or arthritic pain, as well as ease pain caused through strain.  A bandage or cloth soaked in a warm solution will help ease your headache as well.

*  Use vinegar as an antiseptic for cuts or any broken skin, as it sterilises the wound and aids healing.  We don’t always have commercial antiseptics at hand but this magical acetic acid can be found in most homes and is just as effective.

Who would believe that this magical liquid that has been around for centuries could later prove to be such an all-in-one cleaner, antiseptic and whatever else you might like to call it?  Buy it in bulk and feel clean, safe and healthy.
